I found this tool on the HD site that is useful for planning rides.

I use this one here alla time. I find it way better than that new Google Tracks thing or whatever it's called.

Mikester , I tried to get into the site and its gonezo.......
Dirt road daves site is still up , from all over the world , spent a while in there surfing
