INPUT REQUIRED 2016 National Meet

Post by Wolfpack »

Rooms at Bayveiw are $69/night. Best I could get at La Place Rendezvous $105 - lakeside $115. Tenting next door is $17/night. All taxes extra

I have no problem with the 17 a night for camping but wonder about the $100+ for the rest of you would feel!

Warning to Eastern Riders

Post by Wolfpack »

You need to fill up as you leave Thunder Bay/Kabakeka Falls and be ready to buy gas in Atikokan it.s 200 km out and the only stop , no Tims but the do have a Robins and several gas station , all others on highway 11 where closed till you get very close to Fort Frances.

The US route from Sault Ste. Marie on Hwy 28 , US 2 and Hwy53 is a great route lots to see and much cheaper on food , gas and motels.

I didn't do the run down from Kenora but did do the run down from Winnipeg , Stienbeck and Rainy River threw the USA , had zero problem crossing the boarder either way and the highway was good only problem is HWY 12 should be called the venison hwy more dam deer and road kill than any route I've taken!

Do La Place - we stayed there on the way to Preeceville. Great hotel. Right on the water & they serve the meals outside for you. Could most likely get them to supply a BBQ or something.

I'm for this one.

I know, you only wanted the people that would not stay there. Too bad. Just love the area.

Dave
It's time to quit when you can't get your leg over the seat. AND ONLY THEN !!

Good Route BUT REMEMBER if you have a fear of Heights or open grate bridges .... DON"T take the MACHINAC Bridge : be warned the paved lanes are always closed for repair if your riding a bike across http://www.mackinacbridge.org/about-the-bridge-8/
